OUR STORY
The South Okanagan Similkameen Brain Injury Society (SOSBIS), now a registered charity was founded in 1989 by a group of brain injury survivors and family members. Here at SOSBIS, we provide support to individuals and families who are dealing with the effects of traumatic and acquired brain injuries. We are registered under the British Columbia Non-Profit Act, which allows us to provided support to individuals and families who are living with the effects of acquired brain injury.

OUR LOGO
Our original logo was a stand-alone tree, which represented the “Tree of Life.” But in 2017, after The Brain Injury Society celebrated its 25th anniversary of providing support to individuals with brain injuries and their families, we were introduced to a new logo that not only embodied our original message, but also represented new beginnings and the formation of strong connections through the development of additional programs, such as housing.
OUR TEAM
Our dedicated team at the Brain Injury Society is a passionate group of professionals, caregivers, and advocates committed to supporting individuals affected by brain injuries. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by survivors and their families, we work together to provide resources, raise awareness, and promote recovery. Through compassion, expertise, and collaboration, our team strives to make a lasting impact in the lives of those navigating the journey of brain injury recovery.
