REFERRALS
Eligibility for services requires that the individual:- Be a resident of the South Okanagan Similkameen Health Region
- Have a diagnosed Aquired Brain Injury (A.B.I.)
- Is experiencing changes in physical, emotional, behavioral or social functioning as a result of the Acquired Brain Injury
- Self
- Family/Caregiver
- Physician
- Community professional/agency
- ICBC/WCB
- Private Agencies
- Insurance companies
A.B.I. is technically defined as “damage to the brain which occurs after birth and is not related to congenital disorder or a degenerative disease”.
These impairments may be either temporary or permanent and cause partial or total functional disability or psychosocial maladjustment.
